Mission: Inspire healthy lifestyles
Philosophy:
To provide accurate and up to date information and instruction to students in order to increase health related knowledge, skills, values, and self-efficacy need to lead healthy lifestyles.
Description: This class is created based on data about youth health status and/or risk behaviors that contribute to morbidity and mortality. Each unit contains healthy behavior outcomes and unit learning outcomes designed for students. National health education standards and Illinois Learning Standards are applicable to each unit. Supporting health behavior theories and principles of learning are applicable to each unit as well. Major health knowledge, skills, and attitudes will be covered. Students will be assessed using formative and summative assessments. Valid and reliable health education resources, or related references will be cited and used throughout each unit.
Assignments, Late Policy, and Incompletes:
If you are absent, you are still responsible for the completion of all missed work. You will find missing work in Google Classroom. Per rotations agreement, all projects for each class are due no later than 3 days after the given due date. Late work will be accepted for a three-day grace period, but is subject to grade penalty. Work will not be accepted after the last day of the rotation.
Grading:
Grades should be checked in PowerSchool on a regular bases. There will be one project per unit. Each project contains a rubric. Students are expected to read the criteria on the rubric. If you do not understand the rubric, please ask immediately.

4- EXCEED the objectives 3- MEET the objectives 2- APPROACHING the objectives 1- EXPERIENCING DIFFICULTY with the objectives
